fl._ 1170).-Chronicler, _b._ in Jersey, and _ed._ at Caen, was influenced by the Chronicle of Geoffrey of Monmouth (_q.v._), and based upon it a French metrical romance, _Brut_. Later, at the command of Henry II., he rewrote with additions a chronicle of the life of William the Conqueror and entitled it _Roman de Rou_.
